Assembly and Installation of ProMark Yardage Markers ProMark, Inc. Logo
Assembly:

Attach the 4 posts to the plates with the stainless steel screws (included with purchase).  Use a variable speed drill or electric screwdriver to secure the plate to each post.  You may want to use a vice or pliers and wear work gloves to protect your hands while attaching the ribbed posts to the plates.

Turf Installation:

Place the pilot template flat on the ground where you have marked distances.  Drive the 4 bolts about 2 inches into the ground. Installation 1
Installation 2 Remove the bolts and template from the ground.
Place the assembled ProMark plate over the pilot holes and tap to ground level.  A hammer may be needed the last few inches to set the marker flush with the ground.  For best results, strike directly over the screw tops. Installation 3
You may want to establish the height of the plate as you set it.  Simply throw a "stadium cup" of sand under the plate to raise and dome the plate to the height you desire.  Some superintendents report their preference is to remove the turf with a sod knife prior to installation.

Note: To prevent damage to markers or equipment when aerating fairways, the markers should be flagged or removed.  Remove the entire unit... Do not detach the plate from the posts!

Cart Path Installation:
We have supplied you with an adhesive we believe to be the best for application of ProMark Cart Path Plates.  SikaFlex-220 FC is a fast-curing, single component, polyurethane adhesive.
1. Read the application directions thoroughly.
2. Cart path surface should be as clean as possible, free of loose dirt, sand and debris.  The optimum surface will be flat and level.  The cart path surface must be dry.
3. You may soften the adhesive for easier application by placing the tubes on the dash of a vehicle and letting the sun warm the tubes through the windshield.  Sika was originally developed for windshield installation using a warming process for the adhesive.  Do Not Microwave!
4. For best results, the temperature should not be less than 40 degrees Fahrenheit.  The ideal conditions will be temperatures in the 80's with a high humidity.  Caution: Do not apply with a threat of frost within 24 hours.
5. Make several scores on the back of each marker with a utility knife... About 4 horizontal and 6 vertical scores.
6. Use a caulking gun to apply a 1/4" bead of SikaFlex in a "frame" 1/2" inside the edges of the plate.  Make a 1/4" "X" in the middle of the adhesive frame.
7. Press the plate down, making a slight twisting motion to spread the adhesive; press down firmly.  The tack-free time of SikaFlex is 40 minutes; we recommend installation late in the day, then allowing the plates to set overnight before cart traffic is allowed.
8. SikaFlex-220 FC must not be stored above 75 degrees Fahrenheit.  Unopened cartridges have a shelf life of 9 months in cool, dry conditions.  Discard unused portions of opened cylinders.
9. Each cylinder of SikaFlex-220 FC will do ten to twelve 5" x 10" cart path plates.
10. These guidelines and recommendations are made by ProMark, in cooperation with the Sika Corporation/Chemseco Division.  The information provided is, to the best of our knowledge, truthful and accurate.  All recommendations regarding the use of this product are made without guarantee, since the actual conditions of use are entirely beyond our control.
